Calvin Alexander Robinson Sr.

Died September 29, 2008

Calvin Alexander Robinson Sr., building supervisor

Calvin Alexander Robinson Sr., 82, of Culpeper, died Sept. 29 at his daughter's residence in Culpeper. He was born Feb. 3, 1926, in Midland, the first of 10 children born to the late Charles A. and Eleanor P. Robinson.

He received his education in Fauquier and Prince William County Public Schools.

Mr. Robinson was employed as a building supervisor for Fairfax County Schools, where he retired.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann V. Gibson; one son, Larry D. Robinson; two brothers, Charles and George Robinson; and two sisters, Pearl Robinson and Doris Jenkins.

Survivors include three other children, Calvin A. Robinson Jr.. of Costa Rica, Cynthia Yates of Midland and Darlene Adams of Culpeper; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and an adopted daughter, Darlene McIntosh.

Other survivors include a sister, Phyllis Garnett of Sumerduck, and four brothers, Rudolph Robinson Sr., Andrew Robinson Sr. and Vernon Robinson, all of Midland, and Edward Robinson of Washington, D.C.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at Richland Baptist church, 2482 Warrenton Road, Hartwood, where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the service starts. Pastor Burnett Adams Jr. will officiate. Interment will be at Glenn Haven Cemetery, Stafford.
