Rev. Sewell guest at Guilfield
On Oct. 5 at 3 p.m., the Rev. Barnabas Sewell and members of St. John's Baptist Church in Hurleytown will be special guests at Guilfield Baptist Church.

Area groups perform in Hume
Mount Morris Missionary Society will be having a special music program at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4.
A couple of the talents will be The Gospel Tones of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Rectortown and the First Ashville Baptist Church choir from Marshall.
They invite everyone to find out the Lord's many other talents, and to worship and fellowship with them. Refreshments will be served after the program.

Celebrate 138th church anniversary

Remington UMC hosts Wellness Series
The Remington Wellness Series addresses life issues that affect individuals, their families, the environment and society in the Fauquier/Culpeper area.
These conversations strive to address real problems and will offer both secular and faith-based alternatives. The Wellness Conversations will be offered from 7-8:30 p.m. the third Thursday of the month. Child care will be provided.
On Oct. 16, John Waldeck, Director of Clinical Services, Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services Board and Area Agency on Aging, will present "Depression: The World of Darkness."
Participants will learn more about depression: signs and symptoms, contributing factors, differences between men and women, how depression is treated, and what to do if you or a loved one is depressed.
On Nov. 20, Alan Rassmussen, Prevention Specialist, RRCSB, will present "Teen Suicide Prevention: Learn Three Steps to Save a Life."
A recent survey in our area showed that 30 percent of our teens are depressed. The Culpeper area has one of the highest suicide rates in the state. This training is a must for every parent, grandparent or anyone who cares about teens. Learn specific techniques on how to identify youth that are thinking about suicide and what can be done.
