WHS reunion draws 96

Former students of Warrenton High School held their annual reunion Oct. 3 at Fauquier Springs Country Club. A total of 96 were present for this event. The class of 1948 was honored for their 60th year. Twelve graduates were in attendance. Some came from as far as California and Florida.

Worthy of note was the presence of Henry Ferneyhough, class of 1933, from Delaware and Fred Bartenstein Jr., class of 1935, from New Jersey.

Making all of this possible was a group of former students, Margaret Grayson Saunders, Posie Risdon Benchoff, Peggy Yates Goff, Maureen Ashby Lawrence and Haldeen Kirby Wilson. These ladies are already planning for next year's reunion, which will be held the first Friday in October.

Norman Wampler was sorely missed at the reunion. He was instrumental in getting the annual reunion started and also served as master of ceremonies for many years.
