Goldvein This Week: Saturday schedule very full

My family and I have just returned from a weekend camping in the Shenandoah Valley. It is such a beautiful time of the year to visit that area. I hope you get a chance to enjoy the lovely autumn weather.

Happy birthday wishes go out this week to Gregory Carroll on Oct. 22, Mike Kelley on Oct. 24, Shelly Wright on Oct. 26 and Chelsea Flinn on Oct. 27. Happy birthday to one and all.

Lots to see and do this weekend, and I will try to fit them all in.

Monroe Park will celebrate its 10th anniversary 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25. The public is invited to come out and enjoy the park on this special day. There will special activities for everyone. For more information, call Bob at (540) 752-5330.

Mary Walter Elementary School will hold its PTO Fall Festival 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25. There will be games, turtle races, vendors (tables are available to rent, $20), a chili cookoff and much more. This is a fun, family event. Admission is $3 per person or $15 per family. Children 3 and under are free.

The Sumerduck Ruritan Club will hold an all-you-can-eat fish fry 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25. All the fried ocean perch and trimmings you can eat for a great price. Come on out and support the Ruritans; they help our community in so many ways. For more details, call Jay at (540) 439-8225.

Mount Carmel Baptist Church will be having a revival Oct. 26-29. Evangelist Steve Freeman, who also writes and sings music, will be the guest speaker. Services will be held on Sunday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. Special music and nursery will be available for each service. Call the church at (540) 788-9924 for more information.

Morrisville United Methodist Church will have an Autumn Market 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8. More details next week.

Have a wonderful week!
